You are asked to complete a French Exchange Diary to record your visit. This is your own work and you can choose the format. I suggest that you take a rough notebook to make notes and collect any tickets, leaflets etc that you would like to use.
The finished product might be a scrapbook, a printed document or a powerpoint presentation. It is up to you. You will be able to use your photos and any other leaflets or pictures you find while in Millau.
The diaries will be judged by Ms Pashley and will need to be handed in by Monday 1st July. There will be prizes (up to 1000 VIVOs per winner) awarded to the best efforts.
You need to include:
In FRENCH:
- Mon correspondant – nom, âge, ce qu’il/elle aime faire, musique qu’il/elle aime
- Ma famille d’accueil – membre de la famille, âges, métiers, animaux à la maison
- Une description de ma maison française
- Vocabulaire
IN ENGLISH:
- Food – what did you eat? What did you like?
- School – what is it like? How is it different to our school? What’s the timetable?
- Diary – what you do each day
- Conclusion – what are your overall impressions? What would you change if you did it again?
YOUR HOST FAMILY WILL ALSO FILL IN A SHEET ABOUT YOU
Remember – MAKE AS MUCH EFFORT AS POSSIBLE TO SPEAK AND JOIN IN FAMILY ACTIVITIES.
Check the VLE before you go – I will upload a previous example of a diary to help you.
Before our visit you are required to complete some research on a particular topic. Here are the topics with the students chosen for each one. You may work in threes or individually. Be ready to share your findings with the group (you could even write an article for the blog before we go). Use the internet as a starting point (you could try this link) but you may find some useful books in the library and you could even ask some of the students who did the exchange last year.
